SECURITY IN OUR COMMUNITY INCREASED
Here in Loreto Bay, we are fortunate to live in a safe, secure community. Historically, there have been very low incidents of crime. Many of our communities in the United States and Canada have significantly more occurrences. Unfortunately, over the last three months, Loreto Bay has been subjected to four confirmed acts of theft as well as a few additional reports of suspicious activity. The communities immediately adjacent to us have also experienced thefts. Three boats were stolen from the marina and several homes in the Homex development and Nopolo were broken into. This is concerning to all of us. This activity may be reflective of the time of year, it may be related to higher occupancy and more opportunity, or it may be an indicator that criminal activity is increasing in the area. The Board has taken the following actions to address these concerns: *Security has been directed to be more vigilant and assertive in their patrols. Homeowners, workers, and guests may be asked about their unit number or job assignment. Please do not be offended. The Security guards will be polite, and we expect homeowners, workers, and guests to be respectful and understanding in return. *We have increased Security Staffing – an additional security guard has been hired for the 11:00 p.m. to 7:00 a.m. shift resulting in guards at each community access point. *The Municipal Police will increase their presence by providing patrols every 2 to 3 hours on the Paseo during the evening hours. *The Board is also investigating medium and long-term solutions to ensure we have the security systems in place for a safe and vibrant community. This includes using technology to strengthen our security systems. Please remember to do your part in keeping our community safe and secure by reporting any suspicious behavior and by keeping your homes and possessions secured. Also, the security guards are here to assist and protect – please remember to be courteous and respectful as they do their job. Thank you.
